Mercedes-Benz has integrated Gauzy’s cutting-edge dual smart glass technology—combining both SPD (Suspended Particle Device) and PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal)—into approximately 75% of the glazing in its Vision V show car. This marks the first time Mercedes-Benz has utilized Gauzy’s dual technology stack, setting a benchmark for smart glass applications in automotive design.

The Vision V showcases dynamic light and privacy control across its side windows, quarter windows, and interior partition:

Side & Quarter Windows: Gauzy’s SPD + PDLC smart glass allows seamless transitions between transparent, shaded, and fully private modes. The technology enhances passenger comfort by reducing glare, managing cabin temperature, and supporting energy efficiency. These windows also double as interactive surfaces, enabling projection capabilities for immersive digital experiences.

Interior Partition: A segmented PDLC smart glass partition separates the driver and passenger cabins, offering flexible privacy zones. Passengers can switch between open visibility and complete discretion, adapting the cabin environment to suit individual or shared experiences.

Unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025, the Vision V represents the future of luxury mobility—where advanced materials and intelligent design converge to redefine comfort, aesthetics, and functionality.

This collaboration underscores Gauzy’s role as a trusted partner to Mercedes-Benz and a leader in the fast-growing automotive smart glass market.
